And the Pantone Colour of the Year goes to…
Leaping into the New Year all refreshed after a nice, relaxing break we are excited to take on new challenges, create new designs and experiment with colour! Fitting enough, Pantone has crowned the colour GREENERY as Colour of the Year stating “A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings”. What a great way to start the year!
We are excited to explore the rejuvenating, natural colour to lift up interiors, breathe life into a space and create a sense of belonging with our connection to Mother Nature. “The more submerged people are in modern life, the greater their innate craving to immerse themselves in the physical beauty and inherent unity of the natural world” Pantone describes.
You can be subtle with the colour green and mute it down with neutral colours so it blends with ease. You can dip your toe in and try adding green in small areas such as green plants, in artwork, a few scatters and a throw to match. Pair that up with some vases and green candles and you have your greenery touch without being too risky.
Don’t be afraid to go deeper by adding greenery as a feature! Long hanging curtains that drape onto the floor, a large feature wall, a lounge suite or a large rug tying the space together. Enliven the green colours with bold, vibrant shades of orange, pink, burgundy and deep purple or make a strong tonal relation of deep blues, teals and baby blues. The palette is your playground!
We are happy to celebrate this exhilarate shade and welcome the outdoors in and look forward to seeing what exciting new projects come of Greenery!
